MAKING

MEMORIES LAST FOR A LIFE TIME

As a pet portrait artist for over 30 years I have had the pleasure of making memories last for a lifetime.

A pet portrait is more than just a drawing to be hung on the wall. It is a remembrance of throwing a ball and your pet eagerly bringing it back, taking a walk in the woods together or just being close at family gatherings. All in all, it's a heartfelt connection with a friend that will never let you down and will always be there for you.

...May my pet portraits rekindle your most precious memories of your "Furever" loved one.

BIOGRAPHY AS AN ARTIST

I could go into all the details of my art education, the awards I have won, the infinite number of Art & Craft shows I have performed in as well as the long hours I have personally studied on my own behalf. Suffice it to say it all comes down to doing art for the sake of art. No other form of occupation has given me the peace and joy I experience than sitting down in front of my easel and,.... being creative.

I would, however, like to bring to mention two artists that took me under their wing and patiently molded me to become the artist I am today.

The first was Mike Molnar who taught Old Master style painting at LCCC in Nanticoke PA and Hope Horn who taught color function and theory in Scranton, PA. They were both dear to my heart and exceptional as teachers as well as friends. My goal is to carry on the joy they brought to this world by their art work.

Oil Painting Pet Portrait
Oil Painting Pet Portrait

This style of portrait is, yes, considered the premier of pet portraits. Oils yield the most vibrant colors, soft hues and values as well as texture that stands as true compliment to a portrait. As an experienced artist I have a variety of techniques from Old Master Style to other more contemporary "free flowing" styles. All oil paintings are rendered on either durable canvas or masonite board.
Base price starts at $600. Inquire for details.

I commissioned a portrait of our dog Ruger as a gift for my father from Norm while we were at a craft show together. I gave him the photo that I wanted and asked that the harness be removed. Norm was so easy to work with and asked what colors I wanted and what kind of background. The portrait was even better than I could have imagined. The background was perfect and my dad was thrilled!
